In her early years at just nine, Abigail Chamungwana, who is better recognized by her stage alias Abby Chams, demonstrated a remarkable aptitude for music, concurrently mastering three instruments – the piano, violin, and guitar. Her introduction to singing commenced as soon as she began speaking. Abby attributes her inherent talent and fervor for music to her family's deep-rooted association with the art. Her late grandfather, a musician and conductor within an orchestra, stood as a significant influence and became her initial piano instructor at the age of five.

Abby describes, "My journey in music began as far back as I can remember. My grandparents shared their musical talents, inspiring me to embark on this path. For years, I engaged in music lessons multiple times a week, and since then, my passion for music has only grown. It started as a hobby, something I did for pure enjoyment."
