Disc jockeys (DJs) have long been connected with radio stations and nightclubs in Kenya. However, due to rising demand for their services, it is not uncommon to have turntablists working in various campaign product marketing services, live TV shows, and even Nairobi matatus that employ DJs to entertain passengers.
A DJ's job is not for everyone since it takes hours of dedication and effort to master the craft of volume and frequency settings, which are regarded the basic yardstick. Furthermore, in order to have a large number of dedicated fans, one must stay up with the latest music in the industry and be acquainted with many genres.
