Makena Njeri, real name Christine Njeri, is a producer, performer, and director all rolled into one. She rose to prominence in Kenya after starring as 'Makena' in the then-popular Citizen TV high school drama series Tahidi High. Makena was one of the performers who portrayed high school life, and they did a wonderful job. After the show ended, she moved on to work for Nation Media Group and the BBC.

Njeri is a brave person who came out to declare to the world that she is a part of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex (LGBTIQ) community.
