Ian Njoroge was seen in a viral video punching a police officer on Kamiti Road. Ian was apprehended hours later at a house where he was hiding in Kayole, Nairobi. He was apprehended in the Jacaranda neighborhood Sunday night as he allegedly planned to leave. According to police, he was aware that he was wanted and allegedly asked a friend to assist him in moving from his Balozi estate to the Jacaranda estate.
The awful drama was caught on tape, causing widespread outcry. The drama occurred on Sunday morning. The event occurred when the motorist became involved in a traffic collision at the Mirema junction.
Ian Njoroge, the [age]-year-old youth shown in a viral video beating a traffic police officer in Mirema, has been granted a bond of Ksh. 700,000.
This comes after the Milimani Law Courts gave probation officers until 2 p.m. on Friday to produce a report on the case, failing which they would rule on his bail application. The probation had requested seven further days to file their submissions.
